The other day I saw something so disturbing as I did my short scroll on Facebook. It was a conference…a Christian Witches Conference. My eyes became so wide and my mouth dropped as my husband and I looked at the screen. He thought it was a joke and someone was trying to be funny. When I saw it I told him I did not think it was because people are doing all kinds of foolery these days. However, deep on the inside I hoped that he was right. I was hoping that it was a joke (a very bad joke).
It was not a joke. My heart dropped. As we dug deeper and found an actual website my stomach turned and I became nauseated and really could not look at it or think about for a moment. So many people, mostly women from all ethnic background were proud to be a Christian witch and attend this conference of like-minded folks. It all seemed so common for them. Now people who say they are Christian are going to believe they can practice witchcraft too. If we can be carried away so easily with mess are we really saved? Just asking for a friend…
Over the last several weeks I have seen many things that have vexed my spirit. So many of the things that those they say they follow Christ are doing are NOT good, and much of it is downright sin. But since such a vast amount of people are doing it it’s because common and standard. I don’t know how many times I have to say this (I am not fussing at yall I am just arrrghhh DONE) just because it sounds good, they up on a stage, they have great followers, you see them living lavishly, they look like they happy with no worries, they dripping (the new word out there in the streets LOL), and they cute does NOT mean that what they are saying is biblical, true, right, and good for you!
We are NOT supposed to be carried about by every wind of doctrine, the trickery of men, cunning craftiness, and deceitful plotting. In no way!
As Christians we are need to be more discerning. God has placed in each of us some level of discernment even if you don’t have it as a gift. If you have received Christ into your life then you have the Holy Spirit living and dwelling on the inside leading you in truth. It is up to us whether we want to walk in the truth and freedom that Christ brings or be tied up in bondage with the ways and attitudes of this world.
Please if you feel led, pray for the people who have been led astray in thinking they are Christian witches. Pray for the souls of the people that they are bringing into their fold who don’t know any better. Pray that the blinders are taken off. Pray that they will turn from their evil ways and come into the true knowledge of our Lord and Savior. Pray that they will no longer be led by the deceitfulness of their hearts. PRAY!
Join me on the prayer call tomorrow! I will be on there a little earlier than usual. If you can, get on the line. Tuesday, February 18th at 6:00PM MST (7:00 PM CST). Dial 720-689-1444
Only By His Grace,
I was sitting at my desk listening to a powerful song by Eddie James called “Make Me a House of Prayer.” It brought me to thinking how little so many value prayer.
Something rises up in me when people get upset when you tell them to pray. They want a 3, 7, and 12 step system to get the results they want. Therefore, prayer is not the answer for them because what I realized a long time ago is that we value systems because it’s tangible and it’s all done in our own strength.
But prayer…oh but prayer is a whole different kind of something many don’t seem to want. So what do we do? We don’t pray so we allow the waves of life to toss us every which way. Enemy attacks keep coming in every direction and we sit there and let everything happen. We accept that this is just the way it is and we wait for our departure from this earth. Some will fall into depression and many others into addictions to cope.
Let me make this prayer thing a little clearer because the other day I had to make it real clear with another person. Because I was done when they said, “Oh here we go with prayer again. That does not do anything! I have to do something besides pray!”
My answer was, “Yeah that’s why you need to pray because you just said you don’t know what to do! You need to know what that something is right?” Oh how funny we just tell on ourselves. All. The. Time.
Prayer connects you to the Father in heaven who has the answer to your every need. When we come to the throne of grace there is help. Now sometimes that help is making us humble ourselves, getting us to lay aside the sin issues in our lives, getting us to see the lies that have been keeping us bound, helping us to get loose from that controlling spirit, bringing us to a place to forgive others just as Christ forgave us, be set free with truth, or even giving us strategy for our lives and family.
We have got to stop wanting microwave solutions to everything when the King of Kings is trying to mold us to look more like Him. If we are going be God’s representation on this earth and be such carriers of His presence then we are going to have to become houses of prayer. We are going to have to spend time with the Lord (the one we have been ignoring) and face all the ways we will have die to this stinking flesh so that we can grow, produce fruit, and display His glory even more.
When we seek Him you better believe He will take care of everything else. He may not take care of it on your watch and it may not look how you had it all plotted in head, but rest in this; it will still be added to you and it will exactly what you need.
If Jesus is continually interceding for us at the right hand of God, how dare we discount prayer as a lifestyle? The power is not in prayer alone but in who our prayers (as Disciples of Christ) are connected to…His name is I AM! Blessings to you this day!

WOW! Back to school for the kids will be tomorrow and I am doing my best to get back into the swing of things. These long breaks really will spoil you rotten.
For the last several months there have been some apartments being built up the road from us. Passing by them I am always wondering what the end is going to look like. The construction process has always been interesting to me. Several weeks ago I was talking with a woman who I have become friends with and we were discussing all the homes, businesses, and future neighborhoods that were coming up. During that conversation we landed on the apartments and I said, “I don’t know what they are doing but those apartments don’t look like anything!” She agreed and we both laughed and went on.
Fast forward ahead I was doing some research for some affordable apartments for a friend and saw the finished version of the apartments down the road from me. I researched and found the official website and was amazed with the finished product and all that would come with it. The Holy Spirit stopped me dead in my tracks and gave a warning to stop judging the process!
Here we go again UGH! So I am here today to tell you to stop judging not only others process but your process. Someone (including you) may look like mess and that may look like:
Walk forward, fall here and there, get back up, make mistakes, look crazy, cry, laugh, and count it all a joy. Because that is what the process looks like. You are HIS masterpiece and you were created for good works. Have a wonderful rest of the day.

It’s New Year’s Eve! I know many of you are going to be bringing in 2019 with much celebration. Me and mine on the other hand will probably be SLEEP LOL! We had such a blessed time at Brunch & Grace on this past Saturday and what was even more of a blessing was that we had a 7 week old fresh baby to join us!
We talked about committing our works to the Lord in 2019 and we talked about those works and wrote them down. Also, we made a list on paper of all the baggage that we were NOT taken into the New Year and we tore the paper and place them in an emotional baggage tote prayer and threw it all away!
There was such good conversation around our work and what types of things hinder us from committing our work to the Lord and allowing HIM to establish our thoughts/plans. A few of the ways we talked about were
Meet you on the call tonight! If you would like a reminder please reply back to the email with your mobile#. Have a wonderful and blessed Monday!

I hope you are doing well on this Monday morning. I was talking to another woman of God on yesterday about how we can get off in not speaking the truth of God’s Word fully like we are supposed to. I shared with her about what happened to me over 15 years ago when I wrote my first post. Back then I don’t know what we were calling them but it certainly was not a blog post.
The post talked about bearing fruit worthy of repentance. You see there was a time when I looked around and my stomach would literally turn because I saw people who said that they were followers of Christ living totally opposite of what I was reading in the Word of God. I would look at what so many were doing (even leaders) and I would go back to my Bible and I thought that maybe I had it all wrong. What if I was just being one of those “holier than thou” people or maybe I was interpreting the Bible all wrong.
How absurd! What was I thinking? I had 2 choices going forward; fear rejection, follow the crowd and be included or stand with the Word of God even if I had to stand alone. I chose to the stand with the Lord and OH-MY-Gooodnesssssssss all that I have encountered and learned along the way.
My first taste of rejection after that decision was when a woman approached me; being that I have a bubbly, friendly, and laid back personality she took that as a sign that I would agree with her. However, after giving her the truth she turned up her nose and did not speak to me another day after that. It was hard to deal with it at the time but I go back to the Word in John 15:18-19…
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
I encourage you all today to abhor what is evil and to cling to what is good. The ways of this world are evil and sadly many that put God’s name on their lips are not really His at all. We have to bear fruit that is worthy or repentance. That word repentance literally means “change of mind” it communicates sorrow for the way we have utterly offended God. When we are truly sorrowful we not only have a change in mind but a change in our actions because we realize what state we are in and we admit that we HIM alone and we continue to come to Jesus in a childlike manner.
Again, cling to the Father because He is good. Don’t get confused about what the crowd is doing. Usually if everyone is doing the same thing I take it as sign that I need to go another way. Be wise, be discerning, be bold, and stand on the Word even if you look around and find no one else standing around you! Blessings…
