Committing the Work of my Everything

Greetings!

It’s New Year’s Eve! I know many of you are going to be bringing in 2019 with much celebration. Me and mine on the other hand will probably be SLEEP LOL! We had such a blessed time at Brunch & Grace on this past Saturday and what was even more of a blessing was that we had a 7 week old fresh baby to join us!

We talked about committing our works to the Lord in 2019 and we talked about those works and wrote them down. Also, we made a list on paper of all the baggage that we were NOT taken into the New Year and we tore the paper and place them in an emotional baggage tote prayer and threw it all away!

There was such good conversation around our work and what types of things hinder us from committing our work to the Lord and allowing HIM to establish our thoughts/plans. A few of the ways we talked about were
  • Not being able to say NO.
  • Thinking that we must do everything ourselves, and having the mindset that we must “fix” everything.
  • No being in God’s presence enough.
  • Not discerning the times and seasons.
Some of the works that were mentioned that will be committed to the Lord were:
  • The work of saying NO and setting boundaries.
  • The work of building an intimate relationship with the Lord.
  • The work of rebuilding our lives.
  • The work of our marriages and parenting.
  • The work of our friendships.
  • The work of our jobs, and businesses.
  • The work of our health.
Since baggage was so personal we did not discuss too much on what was written down. However, there is one piece of baggage that I want to pray around on the prayer call tonight and that is leaving the orphan spirit behind us in 2018. Furthermore, make your own list of the works you are going to commit to the Lord in 2019 and the baggage you are NOT taking into the New Year.

Meet you on the call tonight! If you would like a reminder please reply back to the email with your mobile#. Have a wonderful and blessed Monday!

Even If you Have to Stand Alone

Greetings!

I hope you are doing well on this Monday morning. I was talking to another woman of God on yesterday about how we can get off in not speaking the truth of God’s Word fully like we are supposed to. I shared with her about what happened to me over 15 years ago when I wrote my first post. Back then I don’t know what we were calling them but it certainly was not a blog post.

The post talked about bearing fruit worthy of repentance. You see there was a time when I looked around and my stomach would literally turn because I saw people who said that they were followers of Christ living totally opposite of what I was reading in the Word of God.  I would look at what so many were doing (even leaders) and I would go back to my Bible and I thought that maybe I had it all wrong. What if I was just being one of those “holier than thou” people or maybe I was interpreting the Bible all wrong.

How absurd! What was I thinking? I had 2 choices going forward; fear rejection, follow the crowd and be included or stand with the Word of God even if I had to stand alone. I chose to the stand with the Lord and OH-MY-Gooodnesssssssss all that I have encountered and learned along the way.

My first taste of rejection after that decision was when a woman approached me; being that I have a bubbly, friendly, and laid back personality she took that as a sign that I would agree with her. However, after giving her the truth she turned up her nose and did not speak to me another day after that. It was hard to deal with it at the time but I go back to the Word in John 15:18-19…

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

I encourage you all today to abhor what is evil and to cling to what is good. The ways of this world are evil and sadly many that put God’s name on their lips are not really His at all. We have to bear fruit that is worthy or repentance. That word repentance literally means “change of mind” it communicates sorrow for the way we have utterly offended God. When we are truly sorrowful we not only have a change in mind but a change in our actions because we realize what state we are in and we admit that we HIM alone and we continue to come to Jesus in a childlike manner.

Again, cling to the Father because He is good. Don’t get confused about what the crowd is doing. Usually if everyone is doing the same thing I take it as sign that I need to go another way. Be wise, be discerning, be bold, and stand on the Word even if you look around and find no one else standing around you! Blessings…

Join me on the prayer call tonight! 7PM MST 720-689-1444
